Description: These homeowners sought solutions to manage their large acreage in a more ecologically responsible manner while maintaining an intentional, groomed appearance in the garden beds around the residence. Lively new spaces that encourage indoor-outdoor living seamlessly transition to natural areas that offer reduced maintenance, increased privacy and improved biodiversity. The Master plan centers on a seasonal, zone-based strategy that addresses specific site challenges (declining pine tree canopy, alien invasive species), as well as installation/maintenance issues and budget considerations. An old agricultural plot is now in succession to a meadow habitat, significantly increasing biodiversity and affording opportunities to observe wildlife for the homeowners.
